I want to tell you both what a fantastic trip we had.

It was so fun and largely due to Sirah. She is an amazing guide in every possible way. Nothing gets past her. We had wonderful meals which included eating outside next to the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge. How many school groups can say they have done that? I am so impressed about her diligence in getting us everywhere, on time, and with ease.

(etr tour leader) Kent was excellent; just the right person to facilitate our itinerary. Choosing the right person for that role is super-important, and Kent was a great choice.

The South Africa: the Drakensburg trip was great. (etr tour leader) Tim was fantastic. He was professional, personable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The kids loved him. I would have him guide another one of my trips in a heartbeat.

What was most popular? By far, the game park, the river ride and the orphanage in Kwamashu… The kids were happiest when active—sea kayaking, horseback riding, hiking, playing ultimate Frisbee on the beach.

WOW really doesn't describe this South African trip. It was WOW, WOW, WOW!

The kids had a great time and we did everything on the itinerary, plus. (etr tour leader) Lavinia and Jason were wonderful. Their participation really enhanced the trip: Lavinia's fabulous energy and enthusiasm were so contagious that even the sleepiest traveler paid attention; Jason was terrific, adding bits of trivia about everything South African, even introducing us to Johnny Clegg, the famous South African entertainer (our favorite track "Kilimanjaro" was happily sing by all on the bus).

One of our most memorable (activity) has to be the drumming / marimba / dancing workshop. Our video shows what a fun time we had, so much so, that several of us bought an African drum! And thanks so much for the shirts. We wore them to hike up Lion's Head.

Overall, a fabulous trip.

(etr tour leader) Lizette was wonderful - conscientious, organized and charming. She got on well with the kids and with the adults. She also seemed to get on very well with other adults we dealt with - tour guides, drivers, hotel clerks. It was a pretty seamless (Krakow and Prague) trip. Ian and I both enjoyed her company and her work.

So, it was a great trip – thanks for all your planning and organising! …and having two local Russian guides made the tours much easier and more informative. We were even able to attend a ballet performance at a very inexpensive price, thanks to (etr tour leader) David’s negotiation skills! Unfortunately the ballet meant that we had to miss our visit to the Kids Club, but that was unavoidable. In St Petersburg all went perfectly!
